Saturday is ALL about the annual what to wear for New Year's Eve dilemma

Happy New Year to Everybody.

I love the start of a New Year, all those promises you make that will be broken within hours and resolutions that you don't even really believe as you are making them .......... the New Year feels fresh and new, and more importantly, there is one last chance to go out and say goodbye to the year you have just lived in!!!

Tonight is all about family, we have booked a table at our favourite local restaurant. It's not super dressy, but you have to make an effort to not look the same as you do the rest of the year, and it IS New Years Eve after all!

When I saw this coat on Cheryl Cole, I fell in love with it. It is designed by Reiss and is called the Jillie Jacket. (For anybody else who falls hard for it - it was £299.00 and has just been reduced to £145.00)

I have a deep, deep fear of fur jackets (faux of course, I would never ever wear real fur) - and for this I entirely lay the blame at the door of Pat Butcher! Surely big coats just make you look like like a cross between a Shot-Putter / Teddy Bear / Lady of the Night ? None of which I am that keen to emulate.

And so began my dilemma... I don't kid myself I am going to look like Miss Cole in it, but I don't really want to look like this either!

and yet I just couldn't get this little jacket out of my head, and so my Reiss Stalking began. Four times I have been to the store to try it on, each time I have stroked it, loved it, vowed to only wear it with the highest shoes I can stand up in so that my chances of looking like a Yeti are slightly lowered, and 3 times I have regretfully put it back on the rail, worrying about that dreaded cost per wear conundrum game that I hate to play but which rears its head occasionally when you see something firmly out of your comfort zone .....

Well today, with a cold New Years Eve to brave I bit the bullet and grabbed the last one in my local store AND at the sale price.

Yes I know that I will probably only wear it once or twice, I know it, but the heart won and I plan to make those times as special as I can (which is surely what fashion is really about!) Plus my daughter is in love with it and I have a feeling that it will go missing from my closet and be loved by her too somewhere in the not too distant future.

So tonight, Jools will be wearing her new, slightly bonkers but very lovely jacket. I will have to keep everything else very streamlined and minimal so that I do not look as wide as I am tall (which isn't very tall at all !!)

My favourite Chanel Lipstick will also be worn tonight, it is the perfect dark pink shade (red doesn't suit me!) It is from the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Range. No.37 L'Exuberante

I will wave my hair and that is me done for 2011. Bring on the Cocktails, and I will try to get a sober looking picture to post tomorrow

Oh, and for anybody interested, my only New Years Eve resolution is to find a local Pilates Class and actually attend, I do have a giant coat to wear after all ........................

Friday 30 December 2011

Friday, Its all about Monsieur Louboutin, and a little bit of Chanel!

The Present that was at the very top of my list was the one I zoned in on under the tree first on Christmas Morning!

I had pretty much been asking (ok - driving family crazy) if this had been purchased since it was released in November, and continued asking right through December so I cannot say it was a surprise in any shape or form, but I was thrilled that Santa (and Matches!) came through for me!

So Friday has mostly been spent pouring over this incredible Coffee Table Louboutin Book.
As I was drooling over every picture I wondered if it was possible to collect every single pair in the book - a girl can dream after all - right ! But many sadly are bespoke and made only for the likes of Kylie & Dita, so those ones are never going to make it into my closet, as I think I may have missed the Burlesque boat .......

A couple of my fave pics are below, they really are complete and utter works of art, and they are not helping to control my Louboutin addiction one tiny bit.

Back in (almost) the real world we are all going out for dinner tonight, so pretty shoes must be worn (I'm completely ignoring the fact that its freezing outside and very rainy) and have painted my toes in preparation.

I am also wearing another new Christmas Present tonight, the tiniest, but sparkliest little Chanel Earrings ever! The friends that we are going out with have only just got married, so her engagement ring is still shining like the Solar System after a visit to Simon Cowell's dentist and I refuse to be out blinged this time!!

Look how cute these are!

So, in a nutshell, tonight, Jools Wore some Chanel Earrings,  Fox Jumper from Topshop, Black skinny jeans and some pretty amazing crystal shoes!

Please feel free to leave any comments, I get lonely you know ............ !

Until tomorrow

Thursday 29 December 2011

Thursday is all about a new Camera, Big Hair and Prada Candy!

Much excitement today as I waited for a parcel to be delivered. It wasn't my normal kind of delivery - and if I am being completely honest it didn't make my heart pound the way a Net-a-Porter delivery would (couldn't you just dive right into that black tissue paper and live in the box for ever after!) but it was exciting none the less as it was a new Camera which of course I shall require to do lots of pictures to show you all next year!

Its very pretty, and apparently takes quite good pictures too!

I have been charging it all day, so by New Year I may well have worked out how to switch it on ............

Today was a wet one, don't get too excited, it was all due to the weather, so what better way
to spend the day than trying out some lovely Christmas Presents!

If you are anything like me, hair appliances are ALL over your house. I am not entirely sure that they do not breed and create something else, that we then convince ourselves we cannot live without - until they are banished one week later to the back of the closet.

Let me see, I have straighteners (of course!) crimpers (don't ask), Tongs, oh and then I have a larger barrelled Tong for wavy looks, a back up pair of not-so-great straighteners that steam and dry hair at the same time, and a curly tong that makes you look like a bridesmaid from the early 80's so it is probably safe to say that I didn't really need to be tempted by anything else ..........

Well of course I was tempted! I saw the advert first, the glossy gorgeous hair that is soooo attainable (I totally don't think about the fact that the model on the TV has been filming this commercial for a week and that the hair probably isn't hers anyhow), No. I BELIEVE that this new product will change my life! so off I pop to Amazon to read the reviews. Wow this one IS good, everybody says so, and before I know it, it's in my basket and I have proceeded to checkout .........

and thats how I have come to have BIG HAIR!!

It's massive, it kind of reminded me of the back massager sketch in Sex and the City! The Darling Husband raised an eyebrow and left me to it.....

Well, it only bloody works!!!! Its easy. I was so scared that my hair would get caught up in it the way those scary hard barrel brushes used to always get you - but it doesn't! It takes a couple of minutes to get used to the action then thats it - gorgeous hair full of body. Ask me again in a week if it is in the closet yet, but for now, its impressed me no end and I am in deep hair love.

I was lucky enough to get new Perfume for Christmas. I am a one scent girl usually (you can torture me though and I cannot reveal what it is) so it is rare for me to try something else. I was seduced by the bottle as it really is pretty, so it made it onto my list and my lovely brother bought some for me.

So today Jools Wore The new Prada Scent - Prada Candy, its gorgeous in a kind of parma violet like way (remember the Kenzo Rose scent) its similar to that but fresher and really modern. It has been on all day and I just cannot stop sniffing my wrists. So if you like quite sweet scents, you have to give it a try. Its going to look beautiful on the dressing table too!

and lastly for today, just because I love the lilac colour that I am using when I say Jools Wore!

Jools Wore a beautiful little ring that my daughters bought me for Christmas - Its a Fox, from Topshop and its adorable!!

Until tomorrow!

A huge hello to you all on my very first blog

Hellooooo,

Well, I drunkenly said over Christmas lunch that 2012 will be the year when I photograph every outfit (good or bad) that I wear, and document it here as a blog, and on the days when I do get to stay in my PJs I will still blog about beautiful things that I have found or that have made me smile. My poor husband also thinks that my rambling here may give him a little bit of down time ........

I am totally addicted to fashion, handbags and shoes - Louboutin's are a thing of great beauty after all! So if you like to look at pretty things, could you stick around just for a little while? Besides, I have just spent 400 pounds on a new camera - you would really hurt its feelings if you don't at least see what it can do!

It would be great if you could check in on me, God knows I am going to need as much help as I can possibly get!

I think I am gonna like it here! As its not 2012 yet, here is a blatant attempt at holding your interest - it is almost as fabulous as fluffy bunnies .....

I am also on Tumblr http://www.tumblr.com/blog/what-jools-wore
