Cut it Out!!! Boots Glorious Boots!!

Hi Lovelies,

Aww boots.........

Every girl looks forward to getting a fab new pair of boots. But in reality we actually need at least 2 pairs!

In the winter, you have to have a pair you can use during the day, some that you can actually walk in (a strange concept for Jools) - but we also need a kicking pair of heeled boots for the evening that will work with trousers, jeans and dresses - these boots have to work hard.

The Balenciaga Cut Out boots (im still so Jel Miss Nads) are such a great pair of daytime flat boots, and they have inspired some really nice ahem, copies (let's call them homages!)

The Original Balenciaga Boots are of course not for everybody - they are expensive at around £795 and a properly young look - but there is no mistaking their popularity, and that they are responsible for a plethora of cut out boots on the High Street for A/W 2013

aww look, there's Miley - Twerking them ....... I didn't recognise her with her clothes on.

The Cut Out Ankle Boot - Balenciaga around £795

I didn't bite - Firstly, I just don't wear flat boots enough to even begin to justify the price, and secondly, Elli would have stolen them off of me in a New York Minute.

But I loved the buckle detailing so I settled with the Topshop Aubrey ones
They have completely sold out (I got the last pair in my size on a really hot summer day in Windsor)

'Aubrey' Open Side Buckle Boots - Topshop £75

If you cannot find a pair - the Arabel2 is a nice Alternative - also from Toppers

'Arabel2' Cut Out Boots - Topshop £70

This version, just released from ASOS is brilliant if you want the same look without quite the statement or price!
(oh no, I think I want these too)

'Astonished' Leather Cut Out Ankle Boots - ASOS £60.00

and these are cute too, just the right heel height for pounding pavements!

'Bianca' Cut Out Block Heel Ankle Boots - Miss KG £80

and how about these for a kicking pair of completely impractical but gorgeous taxi to dinner boots

Curved Leather Lace Up Ankle Boots - Gucci £705

or these

Leather Ankle Boots - Saint Laurent £595

Sigh, I can just smell that leather now!

Do any of these boots take your fancy?

Thanks for reading xx

Lusting after the H&M for Autumn / Winter 2013 Braid Jacket

Hi Gorgeous ones,

It is risky to want one piece so much from a collection. It often means that everybody else is after it too!  And that makes it harder to find. (This is when my lovely friends Dee & Nadia come in as they alway's find the hard to source pieces!)

When H&M showed their H&M for Autumn/Winter 2013 collection in Paris way back in February it was a very well received. They kept the colour palette very neutral - loads of black, cream and some shimmering gold blush pieces - always a wise move, as each piece looks more expensive!

But for me, there was only ONE jacket that I HAVE to own

H&M Braided Velvet Jacket

I must have it!!!

Sienna Miller has already been photographed in the baker boy cap

The flared Skirt is also awesome - the detailing is immense - the price point being around the £150 I doubt will put anybody off. It is very Alaia !

I purchased this pair of Current Elliott Tuxedo Jeans recently
So you can see why I need the jacket to work with them - right!

So I need you to work with me my lovely readers, and any sightings or confirmed
date of release for this gorgeous jacket - please can you let me know.

Thanks so much for reading
Its so great to be back xx

Some new exciting A/W classic purchases

Hi Lovelies,

It is good to be back !!!!

Summer holidays are almost over - the back to school uniform purchases have been made (aww who remembers the excitement of what new pencil case to purchase!) and my thoughts now are firmly fixed towards Autumn.

It is definitely my favourite season - I love a layer!

I had a great clear out over the bank holiday and sold lots of items that I hadn't worn on ebay - which made for some lovely space in my wardrobe and meant that I could make some completely guilt free purchases too. How splendid is that!!!

I mentioned in my last blog that the Saint Laurent Red Bag sadly wasn't a keeper. It was just too heavy for every day use. So I instead purchased this very gorgeous Celine Trapeze Bag in Slate Blue. Perfect for the greys and blacks that I veer towards wearing in the colder months.

Having a lovely new winter bag focuses the mind on what you could wear with it!

I had really wanted to see for myself the Hand Made Zara Cape that came into store last week, so the girls and I went on a little shopping trip yesterday.

Well it was exactly what I was looking for - lightweight, fuss free and just really easy to wear
(plus a Cape just adds to my Sherlock obsession)

Hand Made Grey Zara Cape - £119.00

and I also got a Poplin Large Collar Shirt to wear under sweaters - also from Zara

Great Fit, Statement Collar and a great buy at £29.99

and I bought these two sweaters

Soft Knit Lace Front Jumper - Topshop £38

Oversize very soft knit from Jumper from ASOS
I love the super long sleeves & the casual, sloppy feel.  Size down one size if you purchase!

Oversized Jumper in soft knit - £30 ASOS

So I have made a pretty great start to A/W with some basic, classic pieces.
What do you think?
