Hi Lovelies,
Today has been lovely Chez Jools.
We took the girls to a hotel by the river and we had lunch and drinks on the terrace and spent the afternoon there soaking up some lovely sunrays and watching the boats go by - absolute bliss!
Midget Children - or Giant Connect Four ........ !
One designer piece that I am seriously interested in for A/W is the Carven Printed Skirt. I have watched it sell out on the day it arrived at Net a Porter and Matches, and it has just come into stock at My Wardrobe today and only a couple are left already.
Carven Stage of Life Velvet Skirt £305
Some other prints from the A/W collection
Completely in love with the Tapestry Shoes too! - Sigh
The skirt is a piece of Art really, and is based on Renaissance Artwork. I completely adore it. Vogue explained Carven's A/W 2012 collection as follows:
"The fall collection Henry presented there was borne of the fantasy of a girl walking through a museum filled with sixteenth- and seventeenth-century art and stealing things off the walls and out of the display cases for her wardrobe. For instance, she may nick a Renaissance-era painting of women in colorful vestments working in the yard and wrap it around her like a short, flowy skirt. Or perhaps a rich, storied tapestry woven for royalty becomes a double-breasted coat with shogun-style lapels." Isn't that charming?
And Charming is the word! It is a real statement piece. I would style it with the following pieces.
Cat Embroidery White Shirt - Asos £30
Studio Blouse - Zara £49.99
Cream Lace Pearl Collar Top - River Island £22
and it would also work with a vest top, a rollneck sweater in the winter, and it would
look great with a denim shirt too.
We could wear it now with tan wedges and with opaques and Ankle Boots for Winter!
Have I justified it enough?
This evening we have been drinking Champagne with our next door neighbours as they have just become grandparents for the first time, so a nice end to the day.
and how amazing is BOLT!!!!
J'adore! Would you wear it? and what would you rock it with x
Thanks for reading
