Check Mate at Vuitton

Hi Lovelies,

I hope your weekend has been relaxing. The snow is already melting here, making the roads quite passable, but we still used it as an excuse for a lie in and a snow day of course! We only went out later for an early dinner with the girls.

So it is a nice night indoors with a glass or red wine Chez Jools, and I am very happy about that!

So many people adored the Giles Horse Dress last night - thanks so much for letting me know - and of course join the queue - I have no idea yet how much it is going to cost - I can imagine tho!!!

At Vuitton, the writing was on the wall from the first glance of the checked catwalk at The Louvre in Paris, as to the theme for the 2013 show!

Vuitton has definitely looked to the swinging 60's for their inspiration. In fact the look below on the left was taken for Paris Vogue in 1966 - while the coat on the right is from the Vuitton 2013 Spring/Summer collection -what goes around huh!

First looks are of course, that this look has been done before. But Vuitton has used very luxurious fabrics and silks to make it look modern and very special.
As so often happens, although you can admire the design at the shows, it is not until you start to see the individual pieces being worn by a celebrity that you REALLY start to take notice!

And the celebs cannot get enough of it!

Kerry Washington is having her fashion moment just now
This is at the Django Unchained Berlin Photocall
She can do no wrong and wore the same shoes that she wore with the Giles Horse Print Dress

Kirsten Dunst chose a full length version in gorgeous copper and cream tones

Jessica Alba wore the classic black check version with 3/4 sleeves
to the Warner Bros Golden Globe After Party

Berenice Bejo chose the mini version for the Populaire Premiere in Paris

The Playsuit is an adorable play on the check print for a young fresh look

Check Catsuit (not my favourite!!!)

Kristen Stewart kept it Edgy in a monochrome playsuit
for the Japan Premiere of Breaking Dawn

Looks from the Catwalk

Accessories have also come over all check!
Its a great way to incorporate the trend if you do not fancy wearing it head to toe

The High Street will be filled with check pieces over the next few months so be prepared!
And it is very handy for a game of chess on the Tube

These are in store now ........

Black and White Check Print Tube Dress - River Island £25

Grey and Black Jacquard Knit Dress - now £15 at Topshop

So what do you think of this look and would  you wear it?

Thanks for reading xx
